On January 22, the Ibiza Cinefest International Independent Film Festival returns to celebrate its second edition. This festival, which will last until January 28, will host the best shorts, documentaries and independent fiction feature films.

These can be seen in three locations on the island: Can Ventosa cultural center, Cas Serres Auditorium and in Can Jeroni.

The winners of the six official sections will be shown on the 28th from 5pm at Can Ventosa. ‘Ekaj’, the American film by Cati González as the best feature film; ‘Recall’ by Dániel Reich for best international fiction short film; David Pantaleón’s acclaimed short film ‘El Becerro Pintado’, winner at a national level; the best short documentary about one of the murals Diego Rivera painted in Detroit, ‘Detroit’s Rivera’ by Julio Ramos; ‘Casamance’ by Paloma Zapata, as best documentary and ‘Metube-2’ by Daniel Moshel as best experimental short film.

In addition, you would be able to enjoy the short ‘Timecode’ by the Barcelona-born director Juanjo Giménez, who has received the award for best short film by the European Film Academy in its latest edition. It was also nominated for 2017 Oscars and won the Palme d’Or of Cannes in 2016. It will be shown on the 26th of January, starting at 7pm, along with seven other national shorts.

Conversation workshop in Catalan

Every Monday and Wednesday, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm until February 28, you would be able to chat with your classmates in conversation workshops in Catalan. The easiest and most enjoyable way to learn a language!

Thursdays full of music in La Imprenta

The haute cuisine and cocktails of the La Imprenta restaurant, give prominence to the best live music bands one day a week in ‘Los Jueves Musicales’.

Rhythms of jazz, blues, boogie, swing or Rock & Roll, from local young promises, merge from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Bisbe Azara pedestrian zone until February 22. The proposal of La Imprenta to enjoy even more these free concerts, is to do it together with cheese and ham boards with a good bottle of wine for € 35 or with its distinctive cocktails. If you want to continue the night, the restaurant has an exquisite and innovative menu prepared by chef Pablo Montoro.

Gastrojueves, have dinner at half price

Here you have another plan for not staying on Thursdays at home, who said routine? Gastrojueves returns to Santa Eulália from January 25 to March 15, a day when you can go to the cinema and have dinner at half price in 13 restaurants in the municipality. With the exception of March 1 because it is a bank holiday, since it is the Balearic Islands day.

This plan will allow you to enjoy a 50% in the entire menu of these restaurants, including desserts. However, drinks will keep their usual price.
