Ca Na Hathai, authentic Thai food in the north of Ibiza

If you’re in Ibiza and you want to eat real Thai food, you’ll have to go to the north of the island, to San Miguel, to get to Ca Na Hathai. Just entering the town you’ll see this restaurant of simple appearance but intense flavours, which will suddedly transport you to the Asian continent.

It has a covered terrace which makes lunch or dinner more pleasant during the summer. It’s usually quite crowded, so it’s a good idea to go early or book in advance. It also has ample space inside if you prefer.

Their specialty is Pad Thai, one of the most typical dishes of Thai cuisine based on noodles (wheat or rice) sautéed with different ingredients in a wok, fish sauce, tamarind paste and decorated with peanuts and chopped cilantro. They offer different variants which are all delicious: Pad Met Mamuang, with sautéed chicken or tofu, cashews, onion, Thai chili paste and vegetables; Pad Khing, with sautéed chicken or tofu, sliced ginger, mushrooms, onion, garlic, fresh chiles, peppers and Thai soy and fish sauces or Pad Nua Namman Today with sautéed veal, broccoli, garlic, onion, mushrooms and Thai fish and oyster sauces.

Their curries are also delicious, with a variety of combinations to choose from. They have red and green Thai curry with kaffir lime leaves, dry and aromatic red curry, yellow Thai curry and Indian style yellow curry, both cooked with coconut milk. These can be complemented with one of their rice and noodles dishes, or you can ordered them as main course as they are prepared with many ingredients.

Of course, Ca Na Hathai menu offers several typical appetizers of the country’s cuisine with ingredients such as red curry paste, lime, peanut sauce, rolls wrapped in rice dough, as well as soups and salads.

The restaurant stands out for its good value for money, with dish prices around 12€ and unforgettable flavours. In conclusion, it is worth the trip to San Miguel to taste authentic Thai food on the island.
